An Artist's Journey- Hebrides

Life in England right now feels like walking a tightrope.

Being in a wheelchair, I'm struggling to move without the risk of falling.

Everyone is rushing, living just to survive, filled with anger and frustration.

I've decided to move as far north as possible. The Hebrides is an ideal place for artistic inspiration. I want to place a disability sign on the stunning mountains. David Alexander Art was Here!

It's so quiet and peaceful. I can hear my thoughts, and they're shouting ideas at me. First, I need to see if I can set up a painting studio here and explore any business opportunities.

Wheelchair access is something I must consider. "Obviously."

The Hebrides is probably the last place a wheelchair user would go, except for Cornwall.

I enjoy a challenge.

There is an art scene here, with an art gallery in Aireduig.

Aireduig is about a fifty-minute drive from the town of Stornoway.

I'm going to explore the gallery, meet the wonderful people running it, and see if I can contribute in any way. I will blog about my experience at the art gallery in my next post.

I need to make an informed decision about settling here permanently by the end of March 2026. I will blog about my journey along the way.

Wish me luck!

David Alexander signing off.
